This month our team would like to highlight one of our members as they transition out of their role with the Integrated Justice Program (IJP). Rouhullah Mohammadi started with the IJP in January of 2021 and has taken on a number of roles during this time. We want to extend our deepest appreciation to all of his hard work and the flexibility with which he has supported this project.

He first joined the IJP as a practicum student during his Bachelor’s of Justice Studies. He then worked as a Gladue Research Associate supporting the production of original evidence-based research for Gladue Submissions. He served as an Administrative Assistant for a short period of time before he moved into his frontline role as a Justice Support Worker (JSW). In this position, he offered a wide range of support for individuals living with disabilities. Rouhullah gained management experience by sharing the position of temporary acting Program Coordinator during his supervisor’s vacation leave. Rouhullah then transitioned out of frontline services and moved onto our Gladue Writing Team as our Project Liaison and Research Coordinator; in this role he served as our Practicum Coordinator.

Our team would like to express our gratitude to Rouhullah and his many contributions to the work that we do. His presence will be deeply missed by the team.

Rouhullah brought a balancing sense of seriousness and sense of humour to the work which allowed the team to switch into moments of levity during challenging times. Rouhullah approached his work with a level of humility; he treated all those he encountered with respect and dignity. He also brought an enduring kindness to work that could otherwise be experienced through the damaging machinery of bureaucracy in which he took time with individuals. The IJP is better for Rouhullah’s insights and contributions. We thank him for what he brought to the team and what we learned with him along the way. We are deeply proud that some of those insights were captured in an article that was published in 2024. Rouhullah entered as a student and exited as a published author, practicum coordinator, and dear friend.
