Practicum Placements:
The Integrated Justice Program offers practicum placements to students at the University of Regina and First Nations University of Canada. Spots are limited and students will be selected based on a panel interview process.
What to expect…
Learning Goals for Students
- Recognize and understand Gladue Principles
- Develop and tune legal knowledge
- Develop and tune research and writing skills
- Learning about a team based approach to court submissions
- Develop increased cultural literacy
- Professional development including some certified trainings
Student Responsibilities
- Complete all required trainings and demonstrate a working knowledge in practice
- Attend court and other professional development meetings
- Produce strong and concise academic research when instructed to do so and collaborate with the Gladue Writing Team as needed
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders both within and outside of the project
- Deadlines are critical to the work we do, students are expected to adhere to all deadlines and alert the team any time this is not possible
